Principal Consultant - Manufacturing & Industrials Practice
ROLE DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
As a Principal Consultant within our Manufacturing & Industrials practice, you will play a senior leadership role across client delivery, commercial ownership, and practice growth. This is a Partner-track position for an experienced consultant seeking greater influence, autonomy, and responsibility within our Manufacturing & Industrials capability.
Manufacturing & Industrials is a strategic growth priority for us. As a Principal joining at this stage, you will lead complex, high-profile engagements, shape propositions and go-to-market focus, and operate as a trusted advisor to senior manufacturing and industrial stakeholders.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Lead complex strategy and transformation engagements across manufacturing and industrial sectors, including Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Medtech, Energy and Industrial Products
- Take end-to-end ownership of engagements, from problem definition through to delivery of measurable, banked outcomes
- Drive stakeholder alignment and oversee delivery against agreed milestones
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with senior manufacturing and industrial stakeholders
- Identify and grow opportunities within existing accounts through value-led engagement
- Generate leads with the Partner and through your own network, converting pipeline into value-priced work
- Lead the development of compelling proposals and pitches aligned to our Manufacturing & Industrials propositions
- Shape and articulate go-to-market focus within priority industrial subsectors
- Develop consultants and strengthen key accounts, building high-performing, inclusive teams
- Be a senior leader within the firm, helping establish Curzon as a partner of choice for UK manufacturing clients — with genuine exposure to the decisions and responsibilities of firm leadership
WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR FIRST 6-12 MONTHS
- Lead consulting engagements that deliver tangible, measurable results for UK manufacturing and industrial clients, whether anchored in a particular sector or with a value-chain bias
- Turn your existing relationships into pipeline and convert the pipeline into value-priced work
- Shape how Curzon partners with industrial clients and develop priority accounts
- Drive practice growth through proposition development, thought leadership and developing the consulting team
ABOUT YOU
- A track record at a relatively senior level within a recognised UK consulting firm, delivering strategic management consulting
- Around 10 years’ consulting experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors, ideally with prior industry experience behind it
- A genuine understanding of a manufacturing or assembly environment — the design, make and sell of tangible products in a B2B context
- UK or European grounding in industrial sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Medtech, Energy or Industrial Products — breadth of industrial understanding matters more than a particular sector label
- Real depth across the manufacturing value chain, ideally with strength in more than one of: Operations (production, assembly, maintenance, Lean, AI, automation and Industry 4.0); Innovation, Engineering & Design (engineering, R&D, product design, capital programmes); Commercial (B2B commercial management, margin); Supply chain (procurement, distribution and logistics); or ESG (sustainability and energy transition)
- Demonstrable commercial capability, including business development and lead generation, proposal development, and project commercial management (pricing and margin delivery)
STAND OUT EXPERTISE
(DESIRABLE)
- A live network of UK industry contacts — including potential buyers of consulting services and referrers — and examples of senior clients who regard you as a trusted advisor
