SENIOR CONSULTANT

As a Senior Consultant specialising in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, you will join a CIPS award winning organisation, where you will lead and deliver high-impact value creation programmes for clients across a range of industries and spend categories.

You will take on responsibility to free capacity for the Principal Procurement Specialist Lead.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Deliver Measurable Client Outcomes 

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing workstreams 
  • Deliver cost savings, cash benefits, and commercial improvements 
  • Plan and run sourcing activity, from requests for information to supplier selection 
  • Identify opportunities across cost reduction, demand management, supplier optimisation, and contract improvement 
  • Baseline benefits and support tracking and realisation 

Data-Driven Insight & Problem Solving 

  • Identify opportunities through spend analysis, market assessment, and stakeholder engagement 
  • Use data to test assumptions and challenge thinking 
  • Build evidence-based recommendations that stand up to scrutiny 
  • Present findings in a clear and practical way 
  • Turn insight into actions clients can deliver 

Strengthen Client Relationships 

  • Lead day-to-day engagement with client stakeholders 
  • Support decisions through clear options and trade-offs 
  • Address delivery issues early and propose solutions 
  • Maintain alignment through clear, consistent communication 
  • Build trust through delivery and follow-through 

Drive Innovation and Adaptability 

  • Apply proven approaches to new and unfamiliar problems 
  • Adapt tools and methods to fit the client context 
  • Bring external insight and market awareness into the work 
  • Support client response to changing conditions with practical actions

  • Support proposals, pitches, and client discussions 
  • Shape solutions that are clear, credible, and deliverable 
  • Identify opportunities to extend or deepen client engagements 
  • Contribute to repeat work through delivery 

ABOUT YOU (MUST HAVES)

  • You have at least five years experience delivering work in consultancy or a comparable role  
  • Proven commercial acumen and the ability to drive cost-reduction initiatives and negotiations 
  • Experience across multiple spend categories and complex stakeholder environments 
  • Very competent excel skills with the ability to turn data into insights.  
  • Ability to apply technical procurement knowledge  

STAND OUT EXPERTISE

(DESIRABLE)

  • MBA or advanced commercial qualification 
  • CIPS qualification (Level 4–6) or equivalent preferred 
  • Advanced use of data and analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python 
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, or commercial shaping 
  • Experience developing or improving internal methods, tools, or playbooks 
  • Ability to work cross sector
